Brandywine River Blues Festival
Memorial Day Weekend
May 24, 25 & 26 Saturday, Sunday & Monday

Guitarist Linwood TaylorBeat the shore crowds and spend a great holiday weekend close to home on the scenic grounds of our small estate winery. Taste the nationally acclaimed Chaddsford wines, see the winemaking and barrel-aging cellars, and then relax and picnic on the grounds to the lively sounds of two live Blues bands each day.

Saturday, May 24th Bands:

  • 12:30-3:00 p.m. – Charlie Donelan - This versatile guitarist, singer and entertainer has performed professionally for three decades. Charlie Donelan blows the place away with his howlin’ guitar and gutsy vocals.
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. – James Mabry - Washington D.C.’s James “Guitar” Mabry’s legendary blues style has heated up stages all over the world. An exciting and dynamic Blues guitarist who captivates audiences with strong, clear vocals that spread the “Gospel of Blues.”
Sunday, May 25th Bands:
  • 12:30-3:00 p.m. – Steve Guyger - Philly’s Harmonica King Steve Guyger lights up the stage with the unique stylings he’s become famous for over 30 years of playing and recording, helping to keep authentic harmonic blues alive.
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. – Johnny DeFrancesco - This Horseplay recording artist, acclaimed as one of the world’s great guitarists, shows you what the word “hot” means as he smokes up the stage with his brand of the Blues.
Monday, May 26th Bands:
  • 12:30-3:00 p.m. – Rob Perna - Hot music you can dance to! Blues guitarist and vocalist Rob Perna is the kind of player that grips your heart with an unrelenting fervor reminiscent of the Blues players of old.
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. – Linwood Taylor - Texas swing with a Hendrix flair! Linwood Taylor’s Blues guitar style energizes audiences and assures us “The Blues is alright” anytime, day or night.

Admission: $20/person, includes winetastings, souvenir wine glass, and two concerts. Foods available from Pace One Restaurant, or bring your own picnic. No other alcoholic beverages permitted on grounds.

Summer Nights Under The Stars
Outdoor Concert Series
Summer Friday nights - May 30th through September 5th

Synthesis Latin BandThis series of summer concerts in June, July and August is known far and wide as a wonderful way to spend a relaxing summer evening with friends in a beautiful country setting....and to enjoy a little lively dancin' under the stars! Concerts range from Rock'n Roll and Classic Soul to Zydeco and Dixieland Jazz. Bring a picnic, pick up a chilled bottle of wine, sit back and enjoy!

"Fourth Of July" Brandywine BBQ Weekend
July 4, 5 & 6

Invite all your visiting relatives and come enjoy a rousing Fourth of July with all-weekend-long events at Chaddsford Winery including Friday and Saturday night concerts, plus an all day BBQ Saturday and Sunday by favorite local grillin' guy Nick's Chicks. We are joining our fellow members of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail who will all be hosting great wine and BBQ outings from pig pickins and chickn' likins to chili cookoffs and "roadkill" roasts! Friday, July 4th:

  • 2:00-5:00 p.m. – Hake & Jarema Duo - This local duo has built a loyal following of people who enjoy good old-fashioned classic rock, blues, folk and soul...from the Beatles and Stones to Johnnie Cash and the Allman Brothers, Jim Croce to Dave Matthews. Complimentary.
  • 6:30-9:30 p.m. – EVENING CONCERT, with Red Alert Band - Let the good times roll: 60’s to today’s dance sounds. Reservations recommended for evening concert, $20/person.
Saturday, July 5th:
  • 2:00-5:00 p.m. – Bob Croce - In recent years, Bob has shared the stage with national names such as: Doc Watson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Phoebe Snow, Tom Chapin, Preston Reed and many others. He continues to perform at noted local venues and has been the featured guest artist on several local radio and television programs. Complimentary.
  • 6:30-9:30 p.m. – EVENING CONCERT, with Roy Verna Celebration Band – R&B, Show Tunes, Motown and More. Reservations recommended for evening concert, $20/person.
Sunday, July 6th:
  • 2:00-5:00 p.m. – Mike Wescott - Mike Wescott’s Blues on Board continue to explore and expand the boundaries of the hard-driving blues rock tradition. Mike’s expert soulful voice and virtuoso guitar work are backed with style and energy by Waverly Milor on harmonica and vocals, Gene Monroe on bass and Dave “Papa Funk” Wescott on drums. Complimentary.

Sangria Sundays - Ole!

Put away the yardwork, gather a group of friends, pack a picnic lunch, and come enjoy these lazy hazy Sunday afternoons featuring live music "lite" on the outdoor deck and tastings of our cool and saucy summer Sangrias. Take home our favorite recipes for your own summer entertaining! Tours and tastings in the winery all day, outdoor music from 2-5 p.m. $10 Tasting/Sangria Fee

  • Sunday, July 20, 2:00-5:00 p.m. – Jennifer Yuill - Soulful vocals and expressive piano arrangements anchorher collection of compelling songs. Simple, honet and beautiful.
  • Sunday, July 27, 2:00-5:00 p.m. – Scott Philipp - Chill on a sultry summer afternoon with the contemporary folk Americana sounds of Scott Reynold Philipp Music about life.

August

Labor Day Weekend Jazz Festival
August 30 and 31 & September 1
12-6 PM

End the summer season with cool wines and hot jazz! Grab a blanket, invite some friends, and come out to the Chester County countryside to enjoy the sights and smells of the harvest season as you taste a selection of award-winning Chaddsford wines in the winemaking and barrel-aging cellars. Then relax and settle in for a day of wine and music featuring great camaraderie, great wine and foods, two live Jazz bands each day, and picnicking on the scenic winery grounds.

Saturday, August 30th Bands:

  • 12:30-3:00 p.m. – Brian Betz - Don’t miss this emerging star of the jazz guitar and his quartet featuring trumpeter George Rabbi and bassist Steve Varner.
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. – The Budesa Brothers - The Budesa Brothers are among the most in-demand performers on the current jazz scene; their high-energy style of playing and entertaining showmanship make them a favorite for live concert and festival appearances.
Sunday, August 31st Bands:
  • 12:30-3:00 p.m. – The Sermon - A first time appearance from this funky quintet! Old Soul, Soul Jazz, Blues, 70s funk, Disco. Think Atlantic, Stax, Blue Note, CTI and Verve.
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. – Annie Sciolla - Legendary local vocalist Annie Sciolla sizzles when she sings jazz. To make it even better, she is backed by a high-energy powerhouse band.
Monday, September 1st Bands:
  • 12:30-3:00 p.m. – E. J. Yellen - Long time area saxophonist and recording artist E. J. Yellen plays contemporary jazz from a historical perspective. A first performance at Chaddsford Winery!
  • 3:30-6:00 p.m. – Bobby Newton - Bobby has entertained worldwide, appearing on stage with Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Sarah Vaughan, Billy Eckstine, Wilson Pickett, Clif Nobles (“The Horse”), Johnny C (“Boogaloo Down Broadway”), the Delfonics and Eddie Holman (“Hey There Lonely Girl”).
