It's officially harvest season at the Winery! Our first grapes, Sauvignon Blanc from Historic Hopewell Vineyards, arrived on Saturday, September 10.
What is Harvest?
Harvest begins when the grapes reach peak ripeness. Typically this falls between early September and early November depending on the grape variety and where it is grown. After the grapes are picked from the vine, either by hand or by machine, they are transported to the Winery and processed immediately. A ton of grapes yields approx. 850 bottles of wine, and we receive between 200 to 300 tons in a given year.
